This is the second vintage of No Fault Cabernet from Wrath. The grapes were hand harvested and hand sorted before going into the crusher to insure that only optimum quality fruit was used. The pressed juice was fermented in small bins to allow close monitoring of each lot and pressed off at dryness. The resulting wine was aged in small French oak barrels, 50% new oak, for 18 months.  Structured and ripe, this food–friendly Cabernet Sauvignon shows off layers of blackberry, currant, and undertones of saddle leather on the nose. The palate follows with stunning dark fruit and minerality that finish long with pleasant acidity and sweet, ripe tannins.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
The Santa Cruz Mountain AVA was the first AVA to be defined by its mountain topography. The fog line over the Sta. Cruz Mountains determines the outline of this AVA. This mountainous landscape creates many micro-climates, including an inland, east facing section that has warmer temperatures ideal for ripening merlot, zinfandel and cabernet sauvignon. Uvas Creek Vineyard straddled the Santa Cruz and Santa Clara AVAs, with the cabernet vines planted in the Sta. Cruz section. We discovered this vineyard through a winemaking friend who urged us to “check it out”. Our winemaker, Sabrine Rodems, was blown away on her first visit; said it was the most immaculately farmed vineyard she had ever encountered. The vineyard was owned by a gentleman and his wife, who were in their mid-70’s, and they did all the vineyard maintenances themselves. Sabrine said that she couldn’t pass up the opportunity to make wine from their fruit so the No Fault project was born!
