Wrath’s previous vintages of Tondré Grapefield Pinot Noirs have shared a distinctive quality that comes from the terroir of this outstanding vineyard. The 2018 pairs that quality with rich fruit in a blend of Pommard 4, 115 and 493 clones. The finished product combines plum, tart boysenberries, graphite and hints of cocoa to form a decadent and dense Pinot Noir that is able to remain nimble due to its expressive acidity and integrated tannins.

Vineyard Notes
Father Tondré and son Joe Alarid, both steeped in California’s agricultural history, founded Tondré Wines with the vision to produce a limited production, world-class Pinot Noir from their vineyard, Tondré Grapefield. Tondré Grapefield was planted in 1997 on six and half acres in the heart of the Santa Lucia Highlands appellation. It now has seven blocks for an accumulation of one hundred acres dedicated to Pinot Noir grape vines.
